Walter “Sonny” E. Tabor, 87, of Centralia, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at Centralia Fireside Nursing Home.

He was born December 28, 1931, in Centralia, the son of Walter W. Tabor and Zada Frances (Mandrell) Tabor. He married Clara Irene Seiber on August 20, 1949 in Morganfield, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2014. He is survived by a son, Gary Tabor, and wife Cheryl of Centralia; a daughter, Vickie Gordon of Centralia; a grandson, Ryan Gordon of Centralia; a Step-Granddaughter: Melissa Glasgow of Centralia: Step-Great-Grandchildren Sage & Aidan Glasgow and Brantley Keeley all of Centralia; two sisters: Mary Ainscough of Centralia and Helen Patton of Centralia; sisters-in-law: Delores Taylor of Centralia and Joyce Seiber of Pekin, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, who dearly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Zada Tabor, wife: Clara Irene Tabor, son-in-law: William E. Gordon, two sisters: Imogene Tippit and husband Fred and Kathleen Arrowsmith and husband Richard, and brothers-in-law: Vaden Ainscough, Albert Patton, and Robert D.Taylor, and Dean Seiber. Sonny worked as a Locomotive Engineer for Illinois Central Railroad for 43 years. He was a charter member of Eternity Baptist Church. Sonny loved spending time with his family and friends.
