Walter P. Brown, 87, of Toms River, formerly of Waldwick, passed away January 13, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite, who predeceased him in 2002. Adoring father of Edward W. Brown of Greenwood Lake, Walter J. Brown of Hillsdale, Maureen K. and husband Michael Locke of Monroe, NY, and the late Michael P. Brown, who predeceased him in 2017. Also survived by his daughter in law, Victoria Brown of Monte Sereno, CA. Devoted brother of the late Joseph A. Brown, who passed away in 2003. Adoring grandfather of Dylan V., and Jacqueline S. Locke; and Kathryn M. Brown, and several nieces and nephews. A US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, Walter was a parishioner of St. Luke’s RC Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, where he was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He co-owned Brown Brothers Paint Supply with his brother Joe in Hasbrouck Heights from 1950 -1967, followed by working at Mt. Carmel Guild in Newark. He last worked as a business manager with Beth Israel Hospital in Newark. He coached Little League Baseball in Waldwick for many years, as well as CYO Basketball at St. Luke’s. Walter was also a member of American Legion Post # 351 in Seaside Heights, and was on the Board of Directors of New Concepts for Living in Rochelle Park.
