Walter M. Brinker, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Jeanette (Nothstein) Brinker, with whom he shared almost 60 years of loving marriage. Born in Easton, Walter was a son of the late Walter and Viola (Gulick) Brinker. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1944, and later attended Temple University. Walter served in the US Navy aboard the USS Fondulac during WWII, and later with the Fleet Reserve. He became a construction worker, and was a member of the IBEW and Local #367. He was a member of the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, and also enjoyed bowling in the Spare Masters Bowling League, as well as volunteering at local animal shelters. Walter and Jeanette were charter members of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors: wife Jeanette; daughters Lori Marotta and her husband James of Broomall, Patricia Dwyer of Kearney, NJ; sisters Florence Lutes of Easton, Mildred Shoemaker of Oley; brother Edward Brinker of Easton; grand-dog Finley. Walter was predeceased by his sister Emma Jean Huff.
