Mr. Walter Louis Hibble, age 85, of Cleveland, who was called home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Born in Marietta, Georgia, on February 17, 1928,  and married Joanne O’Neal in 1949. Walter and his family lived in East Point, Georgia until 1990 when the family moved to White County.

He served in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1948 , and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1953. After working with Westinghouse as a draftsman and switchgear engineer for ten years, he joined the electrical consulting firm of L. Ralph Bush, where he served from 1955 until 1963.

Walter was a founding partner in the electrical/mechanical consulting engineering firm of Hibble, Peters and Dawson, from which he retired in 1983. He taught at Georgia Tech, as an adjunct professor in the School of Electrical Engineering from 1983/89. Walter served as President of the Consulting Engineering Council of Georgia from 1975/76, and was awarded their Engineer of the Year in 1978. He served as the Chairman of the Illuminating Society of Georgia in 1965/66 ,and was awarded by NECA, the Atlanta Electrical Industry Man of the Year in 1982.

Walter had the privilege of serving as Chairman of the White County Planning Commission, chairman of Deacons, and Sunday School Teacher/ Director at Dogwood Hills Baptist

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Hibble,Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Morton McInvale, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, David and Patty Hibble of Jacksonville, FL; two grandsons, James Michael McInvale and Travis Michael Fuller .
