Walter L. Streit, 95, Huntington, IN, passed away at 12:50 P.M. on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Tipton House Huntington, IN. Walter was born November 8, 1915 in Onekama Township, MI. to George and Maud (Ware) Streit. His parents preceded him in death.
Walter married Helen Burns on March 19, 1938. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2000. Mr. Streit was a retired parts manager for Fruehauf Trailers in Ft Wayne, IN. Walter served during WW II in the Navy. He was a member of the V.F.W # 2689.
Survivors include: one son: Ray (Sandy) Streit, Goshen, IN, and one daughter: Carol (and the late David) Truitt, Huntington, IN. Three grandchildren: Paige Pyle, Tracey Streit and Andy Streit and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son: Richard Streit, one brother: John Streit, and one sister: Maxine Carroll.
