Walter Joe Cobb, 63, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, in Columbus. He was born on February 15, 1953, to his parents Ben E. Cobb and Lillie M. (Masner) Swift.
He proudly served his country, in the Airforce, for 20years Walter worked line production at Cummins, and worked previously for the Johnson County jail. He enjoyed cheering on the Colts, the Pacers, and IU basketball team. He also loved watching war documentaries on the History Channel.
Walter is survived by his wife, Amanda (Crum) Cobb, his four children Michael Cobb of Indianapolis, Joseph (Amber) Cobb of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Melissa (Brian) Smith of Nashville, and Deonna Johns of Columbus, two sisters, Jan (Mike) Barger of Franklin, and Judy Isley of Columbus, his first wife, Debbie Fitzpatrick, and five grandchildren, Claira Cobb, Abigail Cobb, Oliver Cobb, Samantha Smith, and Brittany Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Barry K. Swift.
