Walter Gerasimovich, 93, of Terra Alta, WV, died on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the South Fayette Nursing Center in Markleysburg, PA.

Walter was born April 22, 1923, in Kingwood, a son of the late Joseph Lawrence and Antoinette (Bochon) Gerasimovich.

He worked from 1965-1970 as a Deputy in Preston County, then as a police officer for the City of Kingwood beginning in 1970. Walter was wounded during a robbery of Penn Marva. He was a bus driver for 14 years for the Preston County Board of Education. Walter enjoyed playing music and played his tenor banjo with the bands, JC & The Boys and the Riggins Brothers. He was a member of the Beatty Methodist Church in the Whetsell Settlement.

He is survived by one son and spouse, Steven and Kelli Gerasimovich of Morgantown; two daughters and spouses, Cindy and Richard Riggins of Terra Alta, Marsha and Chris Brown of Alpharetta, GA; one sister and spouse, Louise and Mark Senich of Clawson, MI; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Jean Gerasimovich; a son, Michael Lynn Gerasimovich; six brothers, Alexshay, Charles Ivan, Ivan, Alexander, Nick and Mitchell Gerasimovich; five sisters, Stella Bernatowicz, Mary Gerasimovich, Anne Craig, Nellie Krupinski, Vera Gerasimovich,
