Walter “Gene” E. Donoho, age 71, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, IL. Walter was born January 25, 1945 in Centralia, IL, the son of Walter O. Donoho and Agnes (Carter) Donoho. He married Linda White on June 27, 1964 in St. Louis, MO and she survives him in Centralia.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by one son: Gene Donoho and wife Chrystal of Okawville, IL; one daughter: Connie Waggoner and husband Jim of Edinburg, IL; four grandchildren: Montana Schmitz- Donoho of Centralia, Jack Waggoner of Edinburg, Kaleb Kwiatkowski of Centralia, and Ericka Alvey of Centralia; one brother: Wayne Donoho of Colorado; three brothers-in-law: Bob White and wife Shirley of Centralia, George White and special friend Rhonda of Centralia, Doug White and wife Cynthia of Dix; five sisters-in-law: Jeanne Donoho of Kentucky, Ruby Pelaez and husband Pete of Centralia, Judy Sassorossi of Centralia, Lisa Shoemaker and Jim of Centralia, and Joyce White of Centralia; several special nieces and nephews; his four-legged companion Spats. Walter was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Agnes Donoho, one brother: Bob Donoho, two brothers-in-law: Kenny White and Mark White, one sister-in-law: Lana Wernsman.Walter retired after 39 years as an oil transport driver for Tracy Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially making sure the squirrels and birds had food to eat. He also enjoyed sitting and watching deer from his back yard. He loved to go fishing and spending time with his dogs. He liked to watch western movies and entertaining people. He always liked to make people laugh. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
