Walter F. Rzepka, Poppy, 88, died peacefully with his loving wife of almost 50 years, his daughters and grandchildren by his side on Saturday March 10th 2007 in Our Lady of Peace Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great grandfather. Walter was born on February 11, 1919 in East Chicago, IN, to Andrew and Veronica (Mucha) Rzepka. He retired from the South Bend Public Library, after 15 years of service. He had also been previously employed with Drewrys Brewery for over 27 years. On June 8, 1957, in St. Adalbert Church, he married Maryann Szynski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Switalski of Granger, IN and Sandra (Randy) Wlodarski of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Melissa Switalski, Ashlyn Wlodarski, Miles Switalski, and Alexius Wlodarski; and by one sister, Helen (Louis) Szilaygi of Mill Creek, IN. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Edward, Joseph, and Stanley Rzepka.
