Walter “Bucky” Edgar Anderson, age 69, of Akeley, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born in Walker, Minnesota on September 27, 1947 the son of Walter and Joan (Foley) Anderson.

Like most people from northern Minnesota, Walter loved to camp, fish and hunt.  He was most happy just sitting around a bonfire when he had company and cooking many meals on his grill.  He enjoyed restoring old cars and listening to classic rock music.  Walter and his dog, Rodya, did everything together and were good buddies.

Walter was born and grew up in Walker, Minnesota.  He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Air Force in 1965.  He was stationed in Germany, and when he returned he married Linda Hillberg in 1969.  Together they added three children to their family, Kerry, Laurel and Cale.  They lived most of their lives in the suburbs of Minneapolis until 2002 when they retired to their lake home in Akeley, Minnesota. Walter was a loyal member of Teamsters Local 120 and a lifelong member of the Spencer Ross American Legion Post 134.

Those he joins are his parents; Walter and Joan.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years; Linda (Hillberg) Anderson, son; Cale (Melissa) Anderson, daughters; Laurel Anderson and Kerry (Tommy) Zimmer, brothers; Nils and Jim Anderson, grandchildren; Sarah, Natalie, Mallory and special boys; Dietrich and Jack.
