Walter Dennis Keith, the son of Nathan Walter and Marie Foster Dennis Keith, was born December 28, 1917 in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was a graduate of Newton High School in Newton, Iowa and lived in Newton all his life.

On June 4, 1936, Walt was united in marriage to Madge Brain in Newton.  He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.  In high school, Walt developed an interest in electricity and radio, he put those two interests together and made a career at KCOB and KLVN radio in Newton for 27 years, retiring in 1983.  While at the station he had his own radio show “The Walt Keith Organ Show” on Sunday mornings on KCOB.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Madge; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Marlin Browne of Urbandale, Iowa; his son and daughter-in0law, Bruce and Jane Keith of Newton; his four grandchildren, Scott Browne and his wife, Sara; Melissa Nelton and her husband, Robert; Craig Keith and his wife, Angie; and Carmen Keith; and a great-granddaughter, Josie Browne; also two sisters and brother-in-law, Kay Stearns of Marco Island, Florida and Jeri and Maurie Messenger of Tampa, Florida; and his many nieces and nephews.
