Walter Bartell, 67, of Middletown, passed away on Monday, January 24th at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Pamplico, SC, he was the son of the late Jaro and Addie Lou (Keith) Bartell. Walter lived in Middletown for over forty years and was a member of the House of God in Middletown. He is survived by a son, Walter L. Bartell, Jr. of Hartford; three daughters, Marie Bartell of Middletown, Carol Bartell of Augusta, GA and Tora Bartell of Middletown; a brother, Alexander Bartell of Middletown; two sisters, Era Jenkins and Ivory Lewis, both of Middletown; eleven grandchildren; longtime companion, Martha Allen of Middletown and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, John, Sr. and Herman Bartell and James Floyd; and a sister, Ella Hyman.
