As peacefully as the twinkling of an eye, the sainted soul we knew as our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, slipped away from this life into the mighty presence of the Lord God to whom he had devoted his life. Walter Allan Rainwater was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 17, 1941 and was the son of the late Ben L. and Rena Rainwater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Bonnie Rainwater and Eileen Rainwater; his brother Richard Rainwater and step-mother, Oretha Rainwater. Allan became the husband of Flossie Kiser and it is a romance that continued to the very end as he went to be with Jesus on March 3, 2012. For Flossie that romance continues in her precious memories of their happy years together. Allan served for four years in The United States Navy. The family moved to Newnan in 1979 as he was employed with Yokogawa and retired in 2006. Allan was a devoted member of Newnan First United Methodist Church and was an Methodist minister. He served his community as a former board member of The Welcome House and The Cambridge House. He was Chaplain for Coweta Masonic Lodge #60. Above all else, Allan was a man of incredible faith and compassion. He actively sought those for whom he might be a source of comfort and encouragement and tell them about his God who was the source of all strength. His demeanor was non-judgmental and all inclusive of those who were in need in any way. Allan is survived by his wife, Flossie Kiser Rainwater of Newnan; his children, Jim Rainwater and wife Vicky of Suwannee, Jodi Isakson and husband Kevin of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, and Allan Rainwater of Atlanta.
