DURHAM- Mr. Wallace Young Rigsbee, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
Mr. Rigsbee was born on November 9, 1935 to Lonnie and Claudia Rigsbee in Durham, NC. Wallace proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid Duke basketball fan and Tiger Woods fan. Wallace enjoyed word puzzles, scratch-off lottery tickets, and going fishing. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Rigsbee is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Melvin Rigsbee; brothers, Melvin Rigsbee, Lonnie Rigsbee, Jr., Otis Rigsbee, Ezra Rigsbee, Herbert Rigsbee, and Charles Rigsbee; his sister, Elizabeth McGhee; and grandson, Timothy Hale.
Mr. Rigsbee is survived by his wife, Ramona Huff Rigsbee; daughters, Angela R. Wang (David Gumm) of Mebane, NC, and Wanda Cheryl Smith of Durham, NC; his sister, Patricia Teasley; grandchildren, Jayson Rigsbee, Devin Rigsbee, Clif Rigsbee, Alec Rigsbee, Joshua Hale, Dwayne Hale, and Elizabeth Parriman; and great-grandchildren, Jayda Rigsbee, Lukas Stanley, Camryn Stanley, Emery Parriman, Kalib Hale, Kaylee Hale, Aaron Hale, Briar Hale, and Isabella Hale.
