Wahneta May Moffitt, 87, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006, in the home of her daughter, Nancy A. Hurley of Granger, Indiana. Wahneta was born on May 14, 1919 in Galien, Michigan to Vernon and Bernice (Price) May. She had been employed with Easy Heat of New Carlisle.
On June 26, 1937, Wahneta married W. Dale Moffitt who preceded her in death on June 2, 2005.
Surviving is a daughter, Nancy A. (Patrick) Hurley of Granger, Indiana; a son, Charles (Sharon) Moffitt of New Carlisle, Indiana; five grandchildren, James (Sue) Moffitt, Cassandra (Rich) Smith, Christopher (Amy) Moffitt, Melissa (Jason) Durbin all of New Carlisle, Patrick Hurley, Jr. of Granger; 11 great grandchildren, Abby, Joe, William, Dorothy, Shannon, Brittany, Clay, Jake, Lexy, Maddie, Tyler; two great great grandchildren, Antony and Liam; and a brother, Lloyd May of Niles, Michigan. A sister, Leota Good and a brother Floyd May both preceded her in death.
Wahneta was an Elder and life member of the New Carlisle Community Christian Church.
