Vondan T. Estep, 58, of Pleasant Home, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Sunday, July 8, 2018 after a year long battle with lung cancer.
He was born June 13, 1960 in Lodi to the late James and Velma (Cogar) Estep and married the former Stephanie R. Berry on April 9, 1988. Together they shared 30 years of marriage having made their home in Pleasant Home. He attended Norwayne High School and retired from the Village of Westfield Center in 2017. Vondan enjoyed listening to music and playing the drums, working around his home and caring for his yard with his Steiner tractor which was his “special baby”. For many years he was active in the Northwestern Baseball Program having been a coach for over 20 years. He was a member of Faith Second Advent Christian Church.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Stephanie, his 3 children; Stephanie Gasser of Medina and Vondan “Danny” Estep and Tristan Estep both of the home; a grandson, Bryce Gasser; brothers and sisters, Paul (Rita) Estep of Rittman, Mandalee (Duane) Hummel of Shreve, Terry Estep (Cindy Buckingham) of Sterling, Fred Estep, David (Carrie) Estep of Seville, Dale (Wilson) Dohner of Burbank and Shelby Varian of Orrville, sister-in-law, Kathy Estep of Chester, VT; his step-mother, Dianna Estep of West Salem; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Beverly Berry of West Salem and many nieces and nephews and friends including his close friend, Dave Neer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Estep.
