Virginia Marsh, 96, formerly of Ottawa, died December 7, at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island.
Virginia Graves Young was born on April 2, 1919 in Johnston County, North Carolina to Cadmus and Janet (Pool) Young. She married Charles M. Marsh on July 18, 1942, in the Post Chapel at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Ottawa, the Ottawa Boat Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.She is survived by four children: David (Becky Kendall) Marsh, of Ottawa, Carl (Gayle) Marsh, of Pukalani, Hawaii, Steve (Billie) Marsh, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Mary (Evan Kirk) Marsh, of Springfield, Illinois; four grandchildren: Stephan (Dara) Marsh, Andrew (Arielle) Marsh, Bryan Kirk, and Julia Kirk, and one great granddaughter, Iyla Marsh.She was preceded in death by her husband on March 26, 1992, one sister, and one brother.Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.Pallbearers will be Stephan Marsh, Andrew Marsh, Bryan Kirk, Ian McConnaughay, Justin Seigler, and Colton Lockhart.
