Virginia S. Corya, 97, of Anderson, passed away on February 13, 2018 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.
She was born on October 7, 1920 in Deputy, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson. She worked for Delco Remy, and retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Alexandria, Navy/Marine Mothers, Home Economics Club, and ABWA (Business Women’s).
Virginia liked to garden, but most importantly she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her loving son, Larry (Lea) Corya of Daleville; sister, Thelma Forrester; brother, Howard (Dale) Stites; grandson, Michael Alan Corya; great-grandchildren, Joel Corya, Kirsten (Matt) Davidson, Autumn Casey, Brittany (Cameron) Wright, Ashley (Michael) Berks, Courtney (Austin) Jordan, and Joshua Claybaugh; and great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Turner, Carter Turner, Caleb Turner, Layla Turner, Nathaniel Davidson, Braylon Casey, and Honor Casey. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband (Anderson Police Officer), Paul L. Corya; father, Orval Stites; mother, Mary S. Stites; granddaughter, Lara (Corya) Claybaugh; and brother, Gus Stites.
