Virginia P. Volkman, 89, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2007, in Miller’s Merry Manor, New Carlisle.
Ms. Volkman was born on August 4, 1917, in Hammond, IN, to the late George and Rose (Kozin) Volkman. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Volkman.
She is survived by two nieces and two nephews.
Virginia was a graduate of Hammond High School and received her bachelor degree from Ball State University. She worked as a counselor at New Prairie High School for 15 years and as a choral director at Hammond Technical School for 24 years. She was a member of the Michiana Kennel Club, Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club and the Lake Michigan Cardigan Club.
Ms. Volkman was very active in many endeadvors, especially golf and show dogs. She was a former golf instructor and was an owner/handler of Cardigans and Welsh Corgis.
