MANNIS, VIRGINIA ROSE PRICE Age 94, a resident of The Village at Cook Springs, Cook Springs, Alabama, died on June 17, 2011. She was born October 19, 1916 in Rogersville, Tennessee, to Samuel Harlin and Mattie Sue Stewart Price. She lived most of her life in the Fountain City/Smithwood area of Knoxville, Tennessee. She worked at H. S. Kresses for eight years in the late 30’s and early 40’s and was employed by Knox County Schools for 34 years, all at Shannondale Elementary School. She was a life long member of Smithwood Baptist Church and was in the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was a loving, compassionate mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend, loved by all for her keen sense of humor and contagious laugh.
