Virginia (Ginny) M. Cichon of Cromwell, died quietly on October 30, 2007 of complications due to juvenile diabetes. Ginny was born in Hartford, on November 8, 1946, the daughter of Dina (Macchi) Cichon of West Hartford and the late Edward J. Cichon. Ginny attended school in Hartford and graduated with the first class of South Catholic High School. She received her Associates Degree from the former Chandler School for Women in Boston, MA. Following graduation, Ginny worked in Boston for a time, before returning to CT to work for many years at A. J. Macchi Engineers as an administrative assistant. Later, she was assistant to the president for Andersen Laboratories, and worked for a time for Girard Company. Ginny spent many happy days with her relatives at a family home in Barkhamstead. Occasionally, she invited friends there for a pig roast. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Bell and Hanna. Ginny enjoyed traveling, often to Cape Cod in the fall, where her dogs could run free on the beach. Besides her mother she is survived by her brother, Ken Cichon and his wife, Lennie Mullaney, of Harpswell, ME, two nieces, Katie Cichon of Norwich, and Kristin Cichon of Harpswell, ME, and members of the Brockman family. The family wishes to thank Ginny’s friends, neighbors and medical providers for their kindness and assistance over the years.
