Virginia Lee Haase McClain, 93, Anderson, passed away April 14, 2011 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus-Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born March 7, 1918 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of her life. Virginia was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and Indiana State University. She served her country as a Captain in the US Army. She was a registered nurse. Virginia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; Hulman Memorial/St. Anthony’s Hospital Alumni Association; charter member of The Women’s Memorial Foundation and the American Legion.
She is survived by her son, Joseph F. McClain Mary Ann; granddaughter, Melissa McClain; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Fred & Bessie Daugherty and Homer & Blanche Sossbe Haase; husband, Francis “F.J.” McClain; son, James McClain; grandson, Rick McClain and siblings, Beulah Zimmerman, Catherine Brady, Lennis Haase and Jack Haase.
