Virginia Grace Tuell, age 96 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home with Sally by her side on November 20, 2017. She was born July 3, 1921; the daughter of the late Floyd and Matilda (Schoenhardt) Branthaver. She attended Freeport High School. She married Lawrence E. Tuell on October 6, 1939 in Manchester, IA.

Virginia was a homemaker and mother until 1978 when she became a business woman at Tuell’s Repair Shop. She attended Crossroads Church in Freeport. She was a member of the Scottish Rite, Women’s Club, Eastern Star, American Business Woman Association, and Quota Club. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the casino. In their younger years, Virginia and Lawrence enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries. They also loved riding Harley Davison motorcycles when he owned the Harley shop in Freeport.

She is survived by her children, Sally Tuell, Carol Nye, and David Tuell; grandson, Larry (Michelle) Strock of Baraboo, WI and their children, Ryann Strock, Ashlynn Strock, and Kyle Strock; grandchildren, Troy (Tanya) Nye, Brad Nye, Katie Tuell, and Larry Tuell; four great grandchildren; and sister, Esther Boettner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; daughter, Katherine Strock; infant daughter, Nancy Lee; grandson, Mark Strock; and brother, Edward Branthaver.
