Virginia F. McGraw, 78 of Silver Spring, Maryland and formerly of Hillard Street, East End section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday morning, August 10, 2015 peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Bandish) Spayder.
She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Plains, Twp., as a Dietetic Aide until her retirement. Virginia was a member of Holy Savior Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert McGraw in October 1993, sister June Lewis, and her brother George Spayder.
Surviving are her children Joan Ropietski and her husband Jay, Wheeling, WV, Robert McGraw and his wife Terri, Davidsonville, MD, Mike McGraw and his wife Dianne, Bear Creek, PA, and Colleen McGraw and her husband Tsunemi Kurokawa, Silver Spring, MD, grandchildren Lauren Bowman and her husband Tommy, John Ropietski, Michael, Shawn, Kelly, and Mark McGraw, and Isshin Kurokawa, Sisters Damaris Wilkie and her husband Joseph “Carl” Wilkie, and brother Joseph “Butch” Spayder and his wife Janice, nieces and nephews.
