VIRGINIA ELLEN REAMES was born September 5, 1930 in Clover, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Bella Terrace Nursing and Rehab Facility of Columbus, Ohio. (formerly Isabelle Ridgway Care Center)

She was affectionately called Mother Reames by many.  She was a faithful, devoted, long time member of the Jordan Bible Church until she was too ill to attend.   There she served on the Mother’s Board and as Deaconess.  She was a former resident of Jenkins Terrace where she never met a stranger.

She retired from Ohio State as a cafeteria worker.  Mother Reames was an avid fisherman and loved doing it as often as she could.  She also loved to cook and was known widely for her famous homemade old fashioned pound cakes.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents  Luther Mackins and Blanche Boyd; husband Earl Reames; sisters, Anna Mae Bosley and Blanche Simpson; brother, George Boyd, and her fishing buddy Mother Sarah Jordan.  She leaves to cherish her memory first cousin Bobby (Jean) Jackson of Charleston, SC and special cousins, Zola Mae Hall, and Angela Seigle, both of Gastonia, NC; spiritual son and daughter, Willie (Katrina) Lewis of Columbus; her spiritual family the Jordan Bible Church family, and a host of friends including special friend Judy Harrison.
