Virginia R. Dawson (nee Gillespie) of Delanco, died Monday August 22, 2016 at the Cinnaminson Center in Cinnaminson at the age of 85. Born in Athens, Georgia, Virginia was a graduate of the Athens Business College in Athens, GA. She was married in 1954 to William W.L. Dawson.
Most of her working life was spent in the wholesale coffee business. She worked in various positions including outside sales, sales manager, office manager and branch manager. After retiring from the coffee business she worked as a teller at Delanco Federal Savings Bank in Delanco, a position she held for about 10 years until her retirement 3 years ago.
When working Virginia really enjoyed being with people. After retiring she and her husband Bill enjoyed a quiet, private life sharing a love of dachshunds, of which they had many over the years. Wife of the late William, Virginia was also predeceased by her brother Ben Gillespie. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Edmund G. (Garry) and Annalucia (nee Colaiacovo) Dawson and her sister in law June.
