.A native of Carriere, MS, she was a retired Teacher, Coach, and Librarian at Pearl River Central School. Virginia was a member of Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, and a longtime Sunday School Teacher of the Ladies Class. She was also the church organist. Virginia dedicated her life to serving her Lord and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by her parents, William Austin Kirkland and Vera Boutwell Kirkland; and her husband of 55 years, Adrain Pate Lumpkin, to cherish her memory are her daughter, Richelle Lumpkin and her husband, Wendell; her son, Adrain Lumpkin, his wife, Shannon; 6 grandchildren, Hannah Lumpkin, Hunter Lumpkin, Sara Catherine Smith and her husband, Alan, Caroline Dare Lumpkin, Libby Claire Lumpkin,and Laura Cate Lumpkin; 3 great grandchildren, Ross Alan Smith and Ella Catherine Smith, and baby Smith due February, 2022; numerous nieces and nephews; Trevor Hebert and her faithful caregivers, Amanda Tester and Jeannette Bowden.
