Virginia Barrie Squiers, age 87, of Redding, died peacefully on Monday, June 20, at the Norwalk Hospital. She was the wife for 56 years of James D. Squiers. Born in New York City on March 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Caswell and Virginia Milbank Barrie, and was a Norwalk resident for 21 years. She and her husband moved to Sarasota, FL for several years before relocating to Nova Scotia.
She grew up in Scarsdale, NY and graduated from Miss Porter’s School and the Berkeley Secretarial School. She worked for McCann Erickson Advertising before becoming a full-time homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her loving daughter Priscilla A. Squiers and her husband E. Kyle Minor of Danbury, as well as her beloved grandchildren Kieran, Olivia, Arden and Viola.
