Virgilio Lopez, Jr. 61, of Newington, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Myrna (Cruz) Lopez for 29 years. Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, son of the late Virgilio Lopez, Sr. and Angela (Figueroa) Lopez, he was a Newington resident for four years after relocating there from West Hartford. Virgilio was employed with Hartford Hospital for 42 years and currently held the position of Manager of Engineering. He had an appreciation for classic cars, car shows and the Volkswagen. He was an avid Yankee fan, he spent time doing motorcycle rides for charity and also played the congas. Along with his wife, he leaves his three children, Jaricsa Lopez, Danny Lopez and Venny Lopez, all of Newington, and his four grandchildren, Jonathan and Jordan Casiano, Nathan Rodriguez and Dexter Lopez. He also leaves his four siblings, Eddie Lopez, Angel Lopez, Dianet Roca, and Edgar Lopez, many nieces and nephews, boss and close friend, Nick Marziale, and close friends Miguel Garcia and Ray Torrado.
