Virgil Fairchild passed away peacefully, with his daughter by his side, on November 17th, 2017. Virgil was born on July 24, 1929 in Weiser, ID to parents Ben and Anna Mae Fairchild. Virgil was the fifth of six sons raised in Midvale, ID except during a short duration where they lived and worked in Mesa, ID during World War ll. After the war the family returned to Midvale where Virgil graduated from Midvale High School in 1947. In 1951 Virgil married Olive Coffman, and they had 3 children: Roger, Mike and Candy. Vigil and Olive raised their family in Midvale and were married for 39 years.
Virgil was proudly self-employed and had many talents through self-taught and disciplined hard work.
In 1972 the family moved to Payette, ID to farm out on Washoe. Virgil joined his brother Lynus in a partnership in the Payette Cider and Vinegar Company. In 1990 Virgil married Darla Taylor and they traveled with their dog T.J. and enjoyed each other’s loving company for 21 years.
Virgil is preceded in death by parents Ben and Anna Mae Fairchild, his four brothers Lynus, Bob, Art and Phil; His first wife Olive Davis, and second wife Darla Fairchild.
Virgil is survived by his brother Dean Fairchild of Midvale, ID; His children Roger (Rita) Fairchild of Fruitland, ID; Mike (Patti) Fairchild of Donnelly, ID; and Candy (Tommy) Reedy of Midvale, ID; his seven grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild on the way. Virgil is also survived by Darla’s two children Steve (Lori) Taylor of Boise, ID and their three sons; and Scott (Elise) Taylor of Emmett, ID and their two sons.
