Violet M. Moore, 79 of North East passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 22, 2018.
Born in Lancaster, PA, she graduated North East High School in 1957 and has lived most of her life in North East, MD.
She had various jobs throughout her life, including the Ordnance Munitions factory during the 70’s on Mechanics Valley Road in North East.
Known to her family and close friends as “Dolly”, she enjoyed working in her yard, collecting knickknacks and spending time with her family.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: William “Bill” H. Moore Jr.; her parents: Marshall and Anna Gestewitz; and a brother, Melvin Gestewitz.
Survivors include her 4 children: Michael Moore (wife Alice) of Elkton, Randy Moore of North East, Leah Coleman (husband Sid) of North East, Shannon Moore of North East: 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister: Jacqueline Patchell and a brother: Richard Gestewitz, both of North East.
