Violet (Landino) Kirk, 90, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Richard Shaw Kirk, was called home on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Violet was born in Southington, daughter of the late Peter and Anastacia (Riccatelli) Landino, and resided in Newington for 54 years. She was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit and the Democratic Women’s Club and she volunteered at Newington Library. Violet retired from the Travelers Insurance Company. She is survived by her five children Marilyn Eckert and Charles, of Newington, Barbara Kirk, of OR, Mariellen Belen and Mark, of CA, Richard Kirk, of VT, and Pati Kirk, of New Hartford, her eleven grandchildren Ritch, Chad, Brian, Marisa, Rachel, Justin, RJ, Bryce, Nicollette, Corbin and Kira. Our family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Bel-Air Manor in Newington for the kindness and excellent care given to our mother. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Violet’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit.
