Nanny married her sweetheart, Edmond “Dobie” Richardson, on January 26, 1941 in Wyatt, MO. They raised 5 children and were best friends and partners until his passing in 1985.
She was an independent, Christian woman whose faith gave her the strength to live life on her terms until shortly before her passing.
After the passing of her beloved husband, she started driving again after many years of not driving and continued to drive herself until 6 months before her death. Her pride of independence shows in her collection of a lifetime of driver’s licenses.
She was “Nanny” to anyone who needed a “Nanny.” She loved playing cards and relished her weekly card games with her friends.
She loved cooking for family and friends who considered her mac-n-cheese, biscuits, and gravy the best in the land.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and she was happiest when she was surrounded by them. They are her legacy and a great source of pride to her.
Her life was filled with many great friends and neighbors who all took care of one another.
As time continues to pass, we will find ourselves without you but the ongoing impact on our lives cannot be forgotten as your memory continues to walk beside us. You will always be in our hearts because there you are still alive. Death is not the end, but just “to-be-continued” until we meet again.
