West Haven – Violet Forsgren Whitaker
Violet Forsgren Whitaker, our sweet mother and Nana, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Syracuse on April 7, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1922 in Bothwell, Utah to Leonodias Forsgren and Bessie May Burden. She married Alfred Whitaker on August 15, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. He died on August 10, 2000. She was a member of the Country Meadows LDS Ward.
She loved spending time in her yard battling the weeds. She had an abundance of wonderful friends. She especially loved her family, children, many grand and great grandchildren, and her beloved pets.
She is survived by her 4 children; Steven (Minnie) Whitaker of Roy, Tim (Connie) Whitaker of Ogden, Roger Whitaker of Portland, Cindy (David) Mackey of Syracuse; 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren, and extended family members. She is also survived by a brother, Clyde Forsgren of Grand Junction, and a sister, Grace Nelson of Brigham City, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Peggie George, and 6 brothers.
