Ms. Violet E. Smith, Age 88, of Vanceburg, Kentucky went to be with her Lord and Saviour Monday June 11, 2018 with her family by her side at the Southern Ohio Medical Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio after an extended illness.
Violet was born in Garrison, Kentucky February 11, 1930 to the late Fred and Gladys Bruce Angel. Violet owned and operated the Smiths’ Bargain Store.
Preceded Violet in death beside her parents was her husband of 31 years Harold Smith Sr., daughter- Linda Sue Smith Tipton; sister- Janet McGlone; brother- Fred Angel; 2- half brothers- Ben Cotton and Jess Cotton.
Surviving Violet is a daughter- Toni (Kenneth) Blankenship of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Son- Harold Smith Jr. and his wife (Judy) of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Grandchildren- Devin Smith- Vanceburg, Jimmy Tipton, Jason Tipton, and Lee Tipton of Ladson, South Carolina.
11- great grandchildren who also will mourn her passing.
Two sisters- Anna Lee Murphy of Portsmouth, Ohio; Louise Clausing of Rubyville, Ohio.
Son-in-law Jim Tipton Sr. of Ladson, South Carolina.
