Viola Wilde passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 after a long and healthy life. She died peacefully with her children by her side.
She was born on November 2, 1927 in Selfridge, North Dakota to Theodor and Emelia Hepper. Her daughter Kathryn and her husband Vernon Hendrickson, son Kelly Wilde, her sister Emma Bales, two grandchildren, Whitney and Erik Hendrickson and sisters in law, Gayle Wilde and Wanda Hepper survive her. Her husband of 51 years, Donald, passed away in 2005. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Freda Bertsch, Elenor Schebler, and brothers Theodore and Ernest Hepper.
She grew up as a farm girl, first in North Dakota and then in Meridian, Idaho. Viola said, “I have lots of good memories of my childhood days. We were poor but didn’t know it. Our family was a happy caring bunch, doing things together.” She graduated from Meridian High School in 1945.
With the children grown, Don and Vi took up golf and made many friends at Lakeview Golf Course. Her retirement was spent traveling, golfing, playing cards and being involved with her family. She was very proud of her daughter and son and later her grandchildren.
