Viola “Mom Vi” (Shemeth) Dunkavich, 94, of Middlefield, beloved wife for 50 years of the late Michael Dunkavich, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2015 after suffering complications from a broken hip.
Born in Meriden on October 30, 1920, daughter of the late Mikhail Shemeth and the late Mariella (Sokolovich) Shemeth, Viola was a plant police woman and later front office receptionist for the New Departure Corporation in Meriden. She retired from the workforce at a relatively young age and delighted in traveling extensively across the United States with her husband “Mickey.
