Viola Mabel Cavey, age 96, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born December 29, 1924 in Kalamazoo to the late Peter and Belle (Ryan) Fairfield.
Viola’s whole life was her family; she adored every moment she spent with them. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter, Diane, fishing and dancing with her husband, and loved her cats.
Viola was united in marriage to her husband of 75 years, Bernard Cavey on January 3, 1942, who preceded her in death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Goeddaeus, and sister, Evelyn Geren.
She is survived by her children, Diane (Ron) Meyers and Bruce (Carol) Cavey; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, George Goeddaeus; and many nieces and nephews.
