As every story would have it, there is a beginning and an ending. The story of Vincent Jamaal Nix began on Saturday, December 14, 1985. He was born at St. Joseph Community Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana to Vincent Matthews and Barbara Nix Matthews. He was the youngest of two children. Preceding Vincent in death are his Grandparents: Harvey Lee and Claudia Nix and Samuel and Mary Mathews; two Uncles: Jeffrey Nix and Anthony Jones and one Aunt: Patricia Perrigan.
Vincent attended Kokomo High School. He loved to run and ran track. During the summer, if he wasn’t running, he would play football. He also loved going to the skating rink and going bowling. After High School, Vincent spent time working at Chrysler.
Vincent was a very nice young man, always happy and full of life.
Memories of Vincent will be cherished by his Son: Xavier J. Nix; Father: Vincent Matthews; Mother: Barbara Nix Matthews; one brother Dewan Nix and his nephew Cameron Wood, who was just like a brother. He also leaves to cherish his memories, his best friend Ricky Scruggs; Uncles: Harvey Nix, Jr, Robert I. Nix, Billy Ray Nix, Kenneth Nix, Dwayne Jones, Steven Jackson and Paul Matthews, Aunts: Versie Lee Nix, Delores (Tony) Adkins, Gwendolyn Matthews, Shavae Matthews, Tarsha Matthews, Jacqueline Matthews and Crystal Matthews; Nephews: Devontea Nix and Dewan Nix, Jr.; Nieces: Shania Nix, Serenity Nix and Andylnn Flynn; special friend, Adrian Heizer and a host of other relatives and friends.
