Victoria “Vicki” Berning Groff, 42 of Centralia passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Victoria was born September 23, 1970, in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of John William Berning, Jr. and Brenda (Puffer) Berning.
She married Richard Groff on August 18, 2010, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is also survived by two sons: Dallas Berning and Kadyn Groff both of Centralia; three daughters: Chris Berning of Centralia, Ashley Berning of Vandalia, and Arizona Berning of Centralia; a step-son: Richard Groff of Centralia; a step-daughter: Candice Groff and fiancé Derek of Centralia; two grandsons: Keegan Williams and Kyson Williams both of Centralia; five brothers: Mike Berning and wife Tammy of Centralia, Jerry Berning and wife Patti of Walnut Hill, Johnny Berning and wife Jenniffer of Walnut Hill, Kevin Berning and wife Trishena of Patoka and Vince Berning and wife Billie Jo of Indiana; three sisters: Linda McCarty and husband Jake of Kinmundy, Dee Corrie and husband Randy of Cambria and Tina Kelso and husband Kevin of Sandoval; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, John Raymond “Snake” Berning. Vicki enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. Most of all he loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
