Victoria Lorraine Padilla (Salazar) passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday June 2nd, 2022, at the age of 75. Over the last year, she struggled with several illnesses and suffered a stroke. During that time, she remained strong and fought hard until the very end.
Victoria was born in Raton, New Mexico to Manuel Salazar and Prexedes Armijo (Flores) on October 14th, 1946. She worked in the home healthcare field and care for many elderly clients who she all considered to be her friends. Never wanting to leave a friend behind she was known for bringing the occasional client to family celebrations and holidays. Victoria and her husband Alfonso were known for going to the local nursing home to sing Christmas Carols and bring cookies and hot cocoa. Victoria loved her bingo and all her bingo friends. Victoria and Alfonso loved hosting Christmas parties, bingo parties, jam sessions, or any occasion to bring people together. Vickie’s door and heart were always open. Victoria’s unique, warm, and charismatic spirit will always be remembered, and will forever leave a void in all out hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso J. Padilla, her parents Manuel and Prexedes, siblings Frances Salazar, Juan Reinaldo (Ronnie) Armijo, grandson Gabriel Perez and stepson Manolo Padilla.
She is survived by her children Melissa A. Martinez (Vincent), Jose L. Perez Jr. (Katia), Daniel E. Perez (Agnes), Robert R. “Randy” Baldwin, Sandra “Sandy” Hickey, and Stepson Mario Padilla (Magdalena), siblings Helen Segura (Vivian), Ernest Salazar (Carol), Lucinda Ford (Filbert), and 21 grandchildren.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Victoria loved each and every one of her friends and family members and cherished every moment she shared with them.
