Victor James Jackson, 77, of Niles, Michigan and formerly of Three Oaks, Michigan died Wednesday morning, January 12, 2011 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles. Victor was born March 7, 1933 in Three Oaks, Michigan, the last surviving of 14 children born to R.D. and Mary Ann (MacMercury) Jackson.
On August 19, 1952 he married Mary Jean Shedrow in Niles. She preceded him in death January 10, 2000. Victor was employed at Weldun International in Bridgman before his retirement. Victor enjoyed gardening and attending family functions. He thought the world of his grandchildren. Victor loved the Lord and his church, The First Apostolic Church in Bridgman.
Survivors include his sons, Victor (Darla) Jackson of Granite City, Illinois; David (Debbie) Jackson of South Bend, Indiana; Tom Dee Jackson of Bridgman and Mikel (Tami) Jackson of Buchanan, Michigan; grandchildren, Mikel, Mitchell, Ashlyn, Aaron, Merissa, Victor, Amanda, Jason, Deanna, Rita, Shane, Edward and Nicole and his great grandchildren, McKayla, Gavon, Jacob, Alexis, Samantha, Matthew, Marisa, Ashley, McKenzie, Alexa, Shawn and Alia. He was preceded in death by his children, Lisa, Jerry and Randy.
