Victor H. Marin, 88, of Hopkinton, died Sunday, August 23, 2009, in his home after a period of declining health. He was a decorated World War II Army veteran and the husband of Maxine F. (Heavner) Marin.

Mr. Marin was born in Fitchburg, a son of the late Louis Hilaire and Eugenie Mary (Berube) Marin. He was a U.S.

A quality control supervisor at Kidde-Fenwal of Ashland for 29 years, he retired in 1985 and had lived in Hopkinton for 55 years.

He was a charter member of the George L. Wood VFW Post in Upton; a former member, past president and secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Hopkinton; and a life member of the Ashland VFW.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he leaves four children, Linda M. Rice and her husband Kevin of Worcester, Ronald D. Marin and his wife Pamela of Medway, Robert E. Marin and his fiancée Kathleen Caouette of Natick, and Janet K. Blethen and her husband David of Hopkinton; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Rice of Worcester, Capt. Michael Marin (US Army) and his wife Melissa of West Virginia, Diane Corbett and her husband Michael of Franklin, Andrea Mullin and her husband Richard of Maynard, Joseph Marin of Albuquerque, NM, and Jared and Melanie Blethen of Hopkinton; and one great-grandson, Ryan Corbett of Franklin. He was also the brother of the late Leo, Paul, and Albert Marin, Bernadette Cournoyer Lemoine, and Marie “Irene” Reed Cote.
