Veronica Trees Davis, 69, Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away August 31, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital-Madison, Wisconsin. She was born September 26, 1939 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Herbert and Julia Neukom Trees. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1957, and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University in 1961.

She taught art for 35 years at Jackson Junior High School in Villa Park, Illinois. On July 15, 1989, Veronica married James Davis in Villa Park, Illinois. Veronica was an artist working primarily with watercolors and pen and ink. Her artwork had been recognized with awards at both the state and local levels. She was also a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, the Whitewater Arts Alliance, the Red Hat Society of Whitewater, Florence Basset, and Delta Zeta Sorority.

Surviving are her husband, James Davis; two daughters, Melissa Douglas Burmeister of Monticello and Stephanie Luengen of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; a son, Shawn Susan Girtz of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Samantha and Julia Girtz, Trisha Luengen and Nicolaus Burmeister; brother, Craig Dianne Trees of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and one great-nephew. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Emily Trees.
