Vernon Ward Moore
March 9, 1927 – July 12, 2016

Vernon Ward Moore, loving patriarch of our family, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He was born March 9, 1927 in Hooper, Utah, a son of Samuel James and Luella Simpson Moore. He was raised in Hooper, and spent the majority of his life living and working there.

On April 30, 1948, he married Ruby Violet Ovard. They spent 67 wonderful years together. She died October 11, 2015.

Vern faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy, during World War II. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his life working hard, and was always willing to give someone a helping hand. He worked as a farmer and construction worker. Vern was the toughest guy anyone would ever meet, he never felt sorry for himself, and never complained.

He enjoyed salmon fishing, camping with his family, travelling to Mexico, teasing grandkids, and especially growing corn and tomatoes in his garden.

Vern is survived by his son, Tom Moore, grandson, Shawn Moore, granddaughter Kristi (Mike) Chavez, sister, Lu Colter, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Dan Moore, daughter-in-law, Mary Moore, his parents and six siblings.
