Vernon “Clyde” Sivertsen, age 73, of Gladstone, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay.

Clyde was born July 30, 1943, in Escanaba, the son of Vernon and Mary (Joint) Sivertsen. He was raised in Escanaba and was a graduate of Escanaba Senior High School. Following high school, Clyde enlisted in the United States Navy where he began his twenty year career as a Naval musician with a musical focus playing tuba, string bass and electric bass. Throughout his years in the Navy, Clyde was fortunate to travel throughout the world playing for the Naval Band and in several other capacities of the Navy’s music department. Clyde was honorably discharged in July of 1981. His musical talent allowed him to continue his career, as a civilian, playing professionally throughout the United States until his retirement. His hobbies included cheering for the Detroit Lions and New York Yankees, and playing penny poker. He will be deeply missed.

Brothers: Richard (Bonnie) Sivertsen, Jay (Marge) Sivertsen, Jim (Colleen)
Sivertsen, Clarence Lemire, and John (Terry) Lemire
Sisters: Nancy (Harold) Koski and Cheryl Sivertsen
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary, and brother, Terry.
