Vernon Roy Kombrink, 72, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in St. Louis, MO. Vernon’s passion was farming. He also served as a Pioneer seed representative for over 41 years. Vernon was a past President of The National Association of Wheat Growers.

In addition, he was a member of the National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association, Kiwanis Club of O’Fallon, St. Clair County Farm Bureau, Toastmasters Association, Shiloh Eagles 545, and served in the Air Force Reserves. When Vernon was not focused on farming, he took great pride in his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Frieda Kombrink, nee Ahring; niece, Connie Barnes; in-laws, William Timmermann, John Timmermann, Stanley Timmermann, Augie Timmermann, Matthew “Hammer” Timmermann, James Timmermann.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 49 years whom he married on February 20, 1968, Mary Kombrink, nee Timmermann; three children, Michael (Sue Ellen) Kombrink of O’Fallon, IL, Brian Kombrink of Rogers, MN, Michele (Jim) Medlin of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Carol (Harvey) Dressel of O’Fallon, IL; one brother, Stanley (Stephanie) Kombrink of O’Fallon, IL; two grandchildren, Brandi Kombrink, Bryson Kombrink; in-laws, Nick Timmermann, Marcel “Lefty” Timmermann, Albert Timmermann, Floriann Timmermann, Annie Timmermann; and many nieces and nephews.
