Vernon LeRoy Johnson, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 19, 2021, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Solace Hospice.
Vernon was born May 25, 1940, in Emmett, Idaho, to Harold LeRoy Johnson and Betty Anne Storms Johnson. He grew up and attended schools in Boise and graduated from Boise High School in 1958. He played the clarinet in band. He enjoyed racing cars and earned many trophies.
On November 15, 1969, he married Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Johnson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Vernon and Kathy made their home in Idaho Falls where Vernon was a mechanic for 45 years and later owned Vern’s Import and Small Car Repair.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, soccer, and watching western movies and college football.
Vernon is survived by his daughters, Candace (Michael) Whitaker of Victor, ID, Angela Johnson of Ashton, ID, Holly (Nicholas) Berthelson of Idaho Falls; son, Danny Johnson of Iona, ID; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Betty Johnson; and wife, Kathy Johnson.
