Mr. Heath Simpson, 74, of Indian Trail, NC went home to be with the Lord on February 6th, 2018. Fondly known as the Mayor of Ocean Lakes Campground by his friends and family, Heath never met a stranger as he zipped around on his golf cart. Cracking jokes or spreading the word of Jesus, Heath had way of leaving a lasting impression. He left a mark on the heart of every person that crossed his path. As in life, Heath was surrounded by his family until the very end.
He was loved and adored and is survived by his wife, Lib, daughter Leslie Thaw and her husband David, his son Sonny Simpson and his wife Kim, and daughter Lucy Webb and her husband Roger. Heath was most proud of his five grandchildren Paul Webb, Carly Thaw, Kayla Simpson, Savannah Webb, and Emma Thaw. One of twelve children, he is survived by his twin brother Keith, brother Lowell, and six precious sisters (Elsie Helms, Shelby Rash, Anne Austin, Pat Monda, Libby Taylor, and Sara Furr). He is preceded in death by his parents Louie and Velma, and three brothers, Aldred (Bud), Don, and Mick.
