Vernon Eugene Busboom, 84 of Deming, New Mexico passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, New Mexico.

Vernon was born June 18, 1933 in Champaign County a son of Rankin G. and Anna (Meier) Busboom. Preceded in death by Rankin, Anna, and brothers, Marvin and Norman. Surviving sons are Mark (Lisa) of Taylorville, IL, Brad (Ruth) of Stonington, IL and Richard (Ruth) of Taylorville, IL. Surviving brothers are Clarence (Marian) of Traverse City, MI, Leon (Ginger) of Hartland, WI. Surviving wife, Betsy of Deming, New Mexico.

Vernon attended Harston Grade School in Champaign County, Armstrong Township High School in Vernillian County and the University of Illinois earning a degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He worked full time for the Garwood Seed Company from 1960 to 1999. He was named Golden Harvest Seeds district salesman of the year in 1986. Working as a part time dealer after retirement. Vernon also enjoyed going to church and served as a Deacon and Elder in the Christian Church in various areas.
